Celebrate your favourite fiction writers

ARE you a fiction book lover? Do you find solace in the embrace of a captivating romance, get thrilled by mysterious twists, or embark on adventurous journeys through the pages of a good book?

If so, you're in for a treat! The world of fiction is vast and diverse, offering genres ranging from romance, thriller, fantasy, horror to family sagas, catering to every reader's unique taste.

Now, you not only have the opportunity to explore various enthralling titles but also play a role in honouring your favourite authors and writings through the POPULAR – The Star Readers' Choice Awards (RCA) 2024.

Established in 2008, the POPULAR – The Star RCA seeks to celebrate creativity among local authors and contribute to the growth of the Malaysian literary industry by acknowledging the remarkable efforts of writers from all walks of life.

In its 14th edition this year, the awards continue to be a significant part of BookFest @ Malaysia, showcasing a wide array of genres and talented authors.

The selection process involves nominations from the best-selling fiction and non-fiction titles at POPULAR and HARRIS bookstores in Malaysia from the previous year.

Malaysian readers have the chance to select the winners by voting for their favourites from the 10 nominated fiction and non-fiction titles respectively.

This ensures a diverse pool of nominees, reflecting the dynamic tastes of Malaysian readers. The responsibility then falls on the readers themselves to determine the winners by casting their votes for their favourite titles in both fiction and non-fiction categories.

The voting period for the RCA runs from Feb 3 to March 10, providing readers ample time to support their preferred authors.

The excitement builds up as the winners from each category will be unveiled during a ceremony at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) Hall 1’s main stage on April 6, which is held in conjunction with the BookFest @ Malaysia 2024.

To participate and make your voice heard, visit http://bookfest.popular.com.my/?l=12 and cast your votes for three favourite titles in each category for the POPULAR – The Star RCA 2024.
