KUALA LUMPUR: LBS Bina Group Berhad is among Malaysia’s Best Managed Companies 2023 – awarded for the second consecutive year by global consulting firm Deloitte.

LBS is an internationally recognized developer with a vision for building and inspiring delightful spaces and has amassed numerous awards through their various developments.

The company has been building and shaping the nation’s landscape for over 30 years while continuing to meet market demand for quality and affordable homes – placing people at the heart of their approach.

Its continued success is attributed to the leadership of its executive chairman Tan Sri Ir. Lim Hock San, who was named Property Man of the Year in 2018 – the gold standard for developers in the real estate industry.

LBS group managing director and CEO Datuk Wira Joey Lim Hock Guan accepted the Best Managed Companies 2023 award from Deloitte Malaysia CEO Yee Wing Peng at a ceremony held at EQ Kuala Lumpur on July 13.

Joey Lim said that being named once again as one of Malaysia’s Best Managed Companies by Deloitte is a reflection of the company’s “continued success as an organisation.”

“Our focus as the people’s developer is to deliver quality homes based on our three main pillars – affordability, connectivity and community.

“With nearly 500 employees, this award is a recognition of the work we do every day to embody a dynamic culture while executing the strategies that make us successful.

“It is exciting to witness the growth of LBS through the years and our efforts being recognised.

“Receiving this award for the second year validates our efforts and ongoing commitment we have as a team to our homeowners, community, and nation. I am proud of the LBS team,” he said at the event.

The Deloitte award recognises top privately-owned local companies for their organisational excellence and contributions to the economy, with the award programme hosted in more than 37 countries since 1993.

Judged by an independent panel of business and academia representatives, LBS was selected for consistently pushing boundaries to create innovative and customer-centric solutions.

LBS executive director Datuk Cynthia Lim reaffirmed the company’s commitment to sustainability and innovation which is demonstrated through its pioneering Industrialised Building System (IBS).

This RM60mil investment streamlines construction by manufacturing precast concrete panels in controlled factory settings and assembling them on-site with minimal additional work, also known as pre-fabrication.

This construction technique has generated remarkable benefits, including reduction in construction time, minimised material wastage, resolving labour issues, environmental impact reduction, and heightened overall build quality.

“Commencing in 2018 with the inauguration of a mobile plant in LBS Alam Perdana, followed by the unveiling of a permanent plant in Nilai in March 2019, this investment underscores LBS's steadfast dedication to sustainable and innovative practices,” she says.

She emphasises that LBS is dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive work environment for employees, including comprehensive training and development opportunities, competitive remuneration packages, and tailored employee benefits.

LBS responded to challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic – including supply chain disruptions, increased raw material costs, and labour shortages – through sustainable practices and optimising operational efficiency implementation.

This was achieved through innovative business strategies, strategic partnerships, digitalisation initiatives, talent management investments, and prioritisation of customer experience and product quality.

These efforts earned LBS inclusion in the Bursa FTSE4Good list in 2022 – reaffirming the company's commitment to rigorous environmental, social, and governance standards.
