IT was a proud moment for real estate agency The Roof Realty Sdn Bhd (TRR) for receiving, not just one, but two Malaysia Book of Record (MBR) awards.
The company received the “Highest Monthly Transacted Value with Stamped SPA” and “Highest Sub-sales Value Transacted in a Year by a Property Agency” awards at the recent TRR Gala Award Night with about 1,600 attendees at Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre.
With the theme “Back to the Future”, attendees dressed to the nines in accordance with the retro/futuristic dress code in hopes of winning the best dressed award.
It was a night to celebrate the company’s and its employees’ achievements, including 18 Multi Million Agents who were awarded at the event.
Employees showcased their talents in the TRR Got Talent 3.0 segment.
Cash prizes given out that night included a grand prize of RM388,000, first prize of RM188,000; the winner of the KPI Challenge Top Branch received RM150,000 and the winner of the Top Group received RM100,000.
At the event, The Roof Realty Sdn Bhd founder and group managing director Datuk Nicholas Yap and board of directors performed the newly launched TRR corporate song.
Also there were The Roof Realty Sdn Bhd chief operating officer Datin Angel Got, as well as board of directors Jerry See and Ivan Chong.
Yap, who delivered his speech in Bahasa Malaysia, thanked sponsors and business partners, as well as his mentor, OE Edugroup chairman Datuk Wira Calvin Khiu.
“The theme for tonight is ‘back to the future’. As we look back at the past, we can see that from a ‘nobody’, we became ‘somebody’, and today, we are ‘everybody’.
“Year by year, we attain extraordinary achievements and create miracles.
“The leadership at TRR is the key to our success and enables us to shake up the real estate industry.
“This is an amazing and meaningful industry because we helped more than 100,000 people to find their dream homes. 2022 was a special year for us as we went through difficult times during the pandemic and worked hard towards our achievements.
“In 2022, we achieved a new record, with a transaction amount of RM11.8bil in transaction value.”
TRR Johor and Melaka branch director Got Koon Theng was proud to share the success the company has achieved in the past six years with regards to information technology and data technology.
“In 2017, when we first started our iProforma system with e-form and e-signature, the main objective was to reduce the usage of paper and keep all clients’ information and transaction records forever.
“TRR agents only need a mobile phone to use and check it anytime anywhere.”
He added that the company faced a lot of difficulties in the beginning because it changed from operating the traditional way to becoming the first agency to implement the e-form and e-signature system.
“The hardest part is always just at the beginning.
“In 2018, we have more agents joining us because of this sophisticated system we have in the industry and as the client feedback gets better and better, (their) confidence level (in us) improved and today we are one of the real estate agencies with the best use of technology.
“This is a compliment from customers and agents.
“Secondly, in 2020-2021, the pandemic accelerated our growth via our iProforma system, although our agents cannot go out during MCO.
“Buyers and landlords are reluctant to meet with our agents then, so we launched our new function to send a link to customers for signing and this new function largely solved the problem as it not only settled agents’ needs, but also helped many customers to sell off their properties during this difficult time.
“This is why we managed to achieve 30% growth in terms of sales for two consecutive years (2020-2021). If we didn’t have this (system), where would we be today?
“And today this new function of sending the link to customers to sign is widely used by TRR agents and more than 60% of our total transactions are done this way.”
According to Got, this new function helps agents save a lot of time as they do not have to travel and get customers to sign the booking form.
“And this is the reason why TRR agents always have the highest productivity and become the leading sub sales agency in the market.
“We have much more time than others, and this also saves the client’s time. This is why we have good reviews and this premium function can only be found in TRR.
“Lastly, I would like to share that in 2022, we have, combining sub sales and project sales, a total of 17,000 purchase cases transacted, close to 30,000 rent transactions with a total of 57,000 cases and 114 thousand clients buying, selling and renting property with The Roof Realty.
“Today I am so proud to tell everyone that TRR is not just a real estate agency that buys and sells property, we are a company that expands the value of big data, with more than 10,000 agents building this together every day.
“Since many years ago we knew we needed data to provide commercial infrastructure, upgrade and iterate our platform, get closer to our clients and agents, and survive in the next 10-20 years, because data is the heart of the business foundation of today and tomorrow.
“We believe that it is not the technology that changes or eliminates industry players, it is the dreams behind the technology that makes a difference.
“That is why today TRR is one of the leaders in the real estate agency industry and I feel so proud that I am one of them,” he said.
In his speech, TRR Klang branch director Jeff Choo said in the beginning, the company only had 100 cases of internal co-broke per month.
“At that point, we saw the importance of connection between agents.
“We now have 22 branches in Malaysia and achieve 1,000 internal co-broke cases per month.
“In the next three years, we will expand our market to South-East Asian countries such as Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. I believe we will be able to have 10,000 co-broke cases then.
“Aside from expanding the business, we did not forget to give back to the community as well.
“We have a corporate social responsibility (CSR) and it is also a win-win situation for public welfare and society.
“In the next year, we will launch the TRR Foundation CSR programme to help single mothers and senior citizens.
“We will donate 100 units to help single mothers and senior citizens with financial difficulties to have a home to call their own.
“Hopefully, in three to five years, we will be able to help Malaysians who are in need.”
D’Concept, Property Guru, The Next Six Sdn Bhd, UOB Malaysia, MK Curtain were the sponsors for the event.
