Hamdan of Senario passes away at 54

Hamdan Senario or Ahmad Hamdan Mohamed Ramli passed away at Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor Bahru, around 12.50pm on Friday (Jan 5). He was 54.

The sad news was confirmed by Senario group member Azlee to mStar, The Star's Malay-language portal.

Azlee said that Hamdan's heart condition had been very weak since he was hospitalised a few days ago, and he was relying on respiratory support.

According to Azlee, Hamdan's body would be taken to Ipoh, Perak – Hamdan's hometown – for burial.

On Monday, Hamdan was put to sleep after being confirmed to have a blood infection.

Hamdan was in Johor Bahru, Johor, with other members of Senario for the Wonderful Night With Senariounion on New Year's Eve.

The event continued without Hamdan due to his health problems.

Hamdan, born in Batu Gajah, Perak, leaves behind a widow, Norhamalini Ahmad, and four children.

Hamdan began his career in the entertainment industry in 1988 as a singer.

In 1995, Hamdan joined a reality television programme called Sinaran Pasport Kegemilangan, a talent competition. Performing with a group named Serba Salah, which also included Ilya and Wahid, which won the programme.

He later appeared with the Senario group, also joined by Shamsul Ghau Ghau, Lan Pet Pet, and members of the Serba Salah group.

Hamdan had previously starred in several dramas and films, including Aku Kaya The Movie, Tipah Tertipu The Movie, Zombi Kampung Pisang, and the Senario series.
