PETALING JAYA: Assri Merzuki and Syed Agil Syed Naguib have handed the men’s national tennis team a massive boost ahead of the Kuala Lumpur SEA Games.

Top seeds Assri-Syed Agil, touted as Malaysia’s best hopes for a gold in the men’s doubles, emerged victorious after beating compatriots and second seeds Koay Hao Sheng-Ahmed Deedat Abdul Razak 6-2, 7-5 to retain the Kuala Lumpur Open title at the National Tennis Complex yesterday. Assri-Syed Agil received RM4,000.
