MABA reward SEA Games winners with RM6mil condo units

Deserving winners

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Basketball Association (MABA) rewarded the Malaysia women’s national basketball players for winning back-to-back gold medals at the 2015 and 2017 SEA Games by awarding 19 condo units located in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur (LEVIA Residence) with a total value exceeding RM6 million.

The statement said the beneficiaries comprised 16 players and coaches from the 2015-2017 SEA Games women’s team, along with three long-serving MABA staff in recognition of their contributions.

"Each condo unit is priced at RM300,000, with an additional RM30,000 allocated for renovation, bringing the total value of the 19 units over RM6 million," according to the statement today.

The women’s team previously clinched gold in 2015 and 2017 when the event was played in a single round robin format with the top team by the end of the tournament winning the gold medal.

MABA president Datuk Seri Lee Tian Hock also stated that if the national team wins a gold medal at the 2027 SEA Games, condo units will continue to be awarded as an incentive. - Bernama
