Hot form: Sabah’s Loo Yie Bing broke her own meet record in the 50m freestyle en route to winning her eighth gold medal in Ipoh yesterday.

PETALING JAYA: Sabah’s Loo Yie Bing looks set to walk away with the best female swimmer award at the MSSM swimming championship.

The 12-year-old girl, who is trained by former international Elvin Chia, improved on her meet record of 28.67 set last year when she won the girls’ 7-12 50m freestyle event in 27.84 at the Tuanku Zara Aquatic Centre in Ipoh yesterday.
