Squash players make clean sweep by booking men and women's singles finals

BANGKOK: The national squash camp have made a clean sweep of all four gold medals at the Thailand SEA Games after setting up all-Malaysian affairs in the men and women single's finals on Thursday (Dec 18). 

Men’s singles players Sanjay Jeeva and Duncan Lee will meet in the final on Friday (Dec 19), followed by the women's singles between Noor Ainaa Amani Ampandi and Yee Xin Ying at the Vajiravudh College in Dusit. 

Sanjay defeated Singapore’s Jerome Clement Aw 11-4, 11-7, 11-3 in the semi-finals while Duncan beat the Philippines’ Reymark Begornia 11-5, 11-3, 11-5. 

In the women’s singles semi-finals, Ainaa ousted Singapore’s Au Yeong Wai Yhaan 11-4, 11-8, 11-6 while Xin Ying defeated Jemyca Aribado of the Philippines 11-8, 13-11, 11-4. 

Malaysia had earlier clinched both the mixed jumbo doubles and men’s jumbo doubles gold on Wednesday. 

Harith Danial Jefri won two through mixed with K. Sehveetrraa and men's doubles with Low Wa Sern.
