PETALING JAYA: National Squash player S. Sivasangari is one step closer to defending her crown at the Hong Kong Football Club Open after defeating France’s Melissa Alves in the semi-finals.

Top seed Sivasangari was quick to defeat fourth seed Alves as she won 11-7, 11-5, 11-4 in 26 minutes at the Hong Kong Football Club Squash Centre on Friday (Nov 28).

Sivasangari met Alves last year at the World Team Championships, held at the same venue in Hong Kong, where Sivasangari defeated Alves in Malaysia’s first match against France last December.

Sivasangari could either face third seed Egyptian Fayrouz Aboelkheir or second seed Amanda Sobhy of the United States in the final on Saturday (Nov 29) to take home the silver-level title.
