Sivasangari misses title in Silicon Valley Open final

PETALING JAYA: Malaysian No. 1 squash player S. Sivasangari came narrowly close to winning her second title of the year but fell to American Olivia Weaver at the Silicon Valley Open final on Wednesday (Oct 15).

Third seed Sivasangari tried her best to get past top seed and home-favourite Weaver, but the defending champion proved too strong as Sivasangari lost 10-12, 11-4, 4-11, 4-11 at the Squash Zone in Redwood City, California.

Weaver has now beaten Sivasangari eight times out of their previous nine meetings.

Sivasangari had previously defeated Weaver en route to winning the Cincinnati Gaynor Cup in February.
