PETALING JAYA: Aifa Azman (pic) was slow off the starting block when the year started but she finally showed she was back in the groove by reaching the quarter-finals in the Australian Open.

The world No. 42 Aifa shocked world No. 12 Fayrouz Aboelkheir of Egypt 14-12, 7-11, 11-9, 12-10 in 48 minutes to make her way into her first Professional Squash Association (PSA) gold level event last eight at the Sandgate Squash Club in Brisbane.
