Aira sweeps past American Mendez in opener

PETALING JAYA: National squash player Aira Azman showed she meant business in the Carol Weymuller Open by winning the opening round in quick fashion.

The 20-year-old defeated Haley Mendez of the United States 11-7, 11-5, 11-5 in just 24 minutes at the The Heights Casino in New York yesterday.
