KUCHING: Third time's the lucky charm for Yee Xin Ying of Sabah in Sukma Sarawak.

Xin Ying finally claimed her first Sukma gold medal after coming from behind to beat Kedah's K. Sehveetrraa 9-11, 7-11, 11-8, 11-7, 11-8 in the girls' singles final at the Sarawak Squash Centre on Sunday (Aug 18).

This was her third Sukma appearance but her first time competing in an individual event.

Xin Ying previously won bronze in women's team event in 2018 Perak edition and silver in women’s doubles event in 2022 Kuala Lumpur edition.
