Shot in the arm for Syafiq ahead of Asian team meet


PETALING JAYA: Syafiq Kamal received a boost ahead of a crucial role for Malaysia in the Asian Team Championships when he reached the Jansher Khan Canberra Open quarter-finals in Canberra yesterday.

Syafiq, who received a bye in his opening round, came from behind to beat Rhys Dowling of Australia 6-11, 11-9, 11-8, 11-5 in a 49-minute second-round clash.
