Shooter Syasya's title defence ends with bronze

BANGKOK: National pistol shooter Nurul Syasya Nadiah Mohd Ariffin settled for bronze medal at the Thailand SEA Games in the women’s 10m air pistol finals on Sunday (Dec 14). 

Syasya, who came in as the defending champion after winning at the 2021 edition in Hanoi, clinched third place in the individual event after scoring 218.7 at the Thailand Sports Authority Shooting Range in Bang Kapi. 

Vietnam took the top two podium spots with Trinh Thuy Trang taking gold with 242.7 and compatriot Nguyen Thuy Thang coming in second with 241.7. 

In women’s team event, Syasya, together with teammates Joseline Cheah and Dina Batrisyia Adi Azhar won bronze with 1701 points.

Vietnam took the gold with 1711, while hosts Thailand won silver with 1702.
