PETALING JAYA: National lawn bowler Emma Firyana Saroji has ended her Commonwealth Games without a medal after losing her women’s singles bronze playoff against Norfolk Island’s Shea Wilson 2-0 on Sunday (Aug 2).
Emma lost the first set 5-8, with Wilson proving consistent in all seven ends, collecting points in every play.
In the second set, Wilson stayed consistent and won 8-5 to secure the bronze medal.
On Saturday (Aug 1), Emma bowed out at the semi-final stage, losing to Guernsey’s Ali Merrien in straight sets 2-0 (1-11 and 5-8).
