PETALING JAYA: National lawn bowler Izzat Shameer Dzulkeple showed he was made of sterner stuff in the Commonwealth Games.
He came from behind to beat Canadian Ryan Bester 2-1 in the final qualifying group match at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) Centre in Glasgow on Monday (July 27).
The 34-year-old lost the first set 4-6, and in the second, up to the fifth end, was behind 4-5.
However, in the last two ends, he came back from behind to down Bester 8-5.
In the one-end tiebreak, he beat Bester 1-0 to ensure he won all five games in the group and qualified for the semi-finals.
