Aqil, Hasnil, Arif strike silver in men's team kata

BANGKOK: Debutants Mohd Aqil Asmadie, Mohd Haznil Henry and Mohd Arif Hafizi Hishamadi earned their first SEA Games medal after clinching silver in the men’s team kata event in Bangkok.

The trio delivered a solid performance, scoring 23.3 points in the final at the Ratthaprasasanphakdi Building.

However, they were edged out by hosts Thailand, who posted 24.5 points to claim the gold.

Despite missing out on the top spot, the Malaysians deserve praise for their achievement, especially considering they only formed the team earlier this year.
