With more depth, NSC boss Jefri wants M’sian athletes back in SEA Games top five

Potential medal winner: Wushu exponent Tan Cheong Min in action in the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games. Wushu is expected to strike gold in Thailand. Top: NSC director-general Jefri Ngadirin.

BANGKOK: Officials may have avoided announcing a gold medal target, but that won’t stop Malaysian athletes from chasing their own glory at the Thailand SEA Games.

The Games open in Bangkok today with a toned-down ceremony following the passing of Thailand’s Queen Mother Sirikit, before the medal hunt begins in earnest tomorrow.
