C. Shahmalarani earned an early Deepavali present after striking gold in the Karate Series A championship in Nilai yesterday.

PETALING JAYA: Faith, fight, and fire. This was the spirit driving C. Shahmalarani (pic) to make history for Malaysian karate at home on Saturday.

Shahmalarani clinched her third Karate 1 Series A title in Nilai in the women’s kumite below 50kg category, adding to her previous Series A wins in Jakarta (2022) and Larnaca, Cyprus (2024).
