NSC include table tennis as core sport for first time

PETALING JAYA: After a long struggle, Table Tennis Association of Malaysia (TTAM) are rejoicing with the sport listed as a core sport for the first time by the Youth and Sports Ministry through the National Sports Council (NSC).

The Cabinet Committee on Sports Development meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on Monday listed 20 sports as core sports – aquatics (swimming and diving), weightlifting, badminton, track cycling, lawn bowls, e-sports, gymnastics (artistic and rhythmic), hockey, karate, archery, shooting, athletics, sailing, table tennis, sepak takraw, silat, squash, taekwondo, bowling and wushu.
