PETALING JAYA: Sabah farmer Milton Amat’s third place finish in the men’s 100km category at the Malaysia Ultra Trail UTMB in Taiping, Perak on Saturday was an ideal birthday present.

The Pekan Nabulu-born runner, who turned 42 four days ago, completed the race in 12’02:18, coming in behind the top two from China, Bai Xingzhi (12’00:49) in second and winner Ji Duo (11’01:18).
