Harimau Muda bag league title


PETALING JAYA: Harimau Muda were crowned Premier League champions last night after wrapping up their campaign with a 2-1 win over Kuala Lumpur at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.

Teenager Fandi Othman put Harimau Muda ahead in the 33rd minute before Azuan Abdul Malex equalised for Kuala Lumpur in the 50th minute.

Wan Zackhaikal Wan Nor then turned hero for the home side when he netted the winner seven minutes from time.

The National Under-19 boys top the 13-team standings with 62 points from 20 wins, two draws and two defeats.

T-Team Terengganu, who drew 1-1 with Shahzan Muda in Kuantan, finished second on 57 points. Johor came in third (51 points) after beating Proton FC 2-0 at the MBPJ Stadium in Kelana Jaya.

Harimau Muda and T-Team have now won promotion to the Super League next season.
