PETALING JAYA: The golden acts by Malaysian sportswomen on the world stage this year continued with wushu exponent Chai Fong Ying emerging as a surprise winner in the championships at the Quan Ngua Sports Palace in Hanoi yesterday.
The 19-year-old Fong Ying chalked up 9.63 points for her performance in taijijian (taiji sword) and was declared the joint winner with Vietnam's Nguyen Thi My Duc. Taiwan's Chen Ming-hsu took the bronze with a score of 9.57.
