KUALA LUMPUR: India’s Arjun Atwal held off world number five Retief Goosen in a titanic head-to-head final battle to lift the US$1.1 million Carlsberg Malaysian Open crown by four strokes at the Mines Resort and Golf Club here yesterday.
Arjun, who will be celebrating his 30th birthday next month, thus recorded his second European Tour victory and will go down in the history books as the first Indian winner of the 42-year-old tournament.
