Dixon gets back into action to win Moto2

SEPANG: Elf Marc VDS Racing Team rider Jake Dixon stormed into the lead in the opening laps – and never looked back – as he won the Moto2 race at the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix for his third triumph this season.

The 29-year-old British rider, who had also captured the GP of Argentina and Americas (both in March), returned to winning ways when he crossed the finish line in 23:05.269s at the Sepang International Circuit yesterday.

David Alonso of Colombia of the CFMOTO RCB Aspar Team rider and Fantic Racing’s Barry Baltus of Belgium came in second and third respectively.

Malaysia two wildcard entrants – Mohd Helmi Azman and Azroy Hakeem Anuar of team Petronas MIE Racing RW – finished 23rd and 24th out of 30 riders. — Bernama
