PETALING JAYA: Mohd Haziq Mohd Fairues of Petronas Sprinta Yamaha Maju Motor stole the show with the fastest time in the CP150 qualifying session in Round 4 of the Petronas Malaysian Cub Prix Championship at the Terengganu Circuit. Haziq was not up to the mark when Terengganu hosted Round 5 and 6 last year and finished the race in seventh and fifth spot respectively at that time.

This season, Haziq has revealed his calibre when he clocked 48.923 seconds to prove his strength on a technical and fast circuit.

“When I was up to the second position, I tried to get my best lap time. Within one lap, I managed to achieve that,” said Haziq.

“Today is a good day especially for myself and my team. We have worked really hard this week.

“Tomorrow may be different as all the highly skilled riders will be out to finish in podium,” he said.

Taking the second and third fastest spots were Petronas Sprinta Yamaha-CKJ Racing riders Mohd Aiman Tahiruddin and Ahmad Afif Amran, who logged in at 49.174 and 49.236 respectively.
