Malaysia seek ranking points after missing knockout stage in Belgium

PETALING JAYA: The national hockey team are determined to leave Belgium as the ninth best team in the world after failure to enter the knockout stage in the World Cup.

Malaysia finished bottom of Group B after two defeats and a draw, but showed plenty of fight against three higher-ranked opponents, including a spirited 3-3 draw with France and a 3-5 defeat to hosts and world No. 1 Belgium.
