Malaysia hockey team keep Under-18 Asia Cup semi-final hopes alive

PETALING JAYA: Young hockey player Dheeressh Gunaseelan led Malaysia to a 3-2 win against Pakistan and kept their hopes alive in the Under-18 Asia Cup in Kakamigahara in Japan yesterday.

The 17-year-old team captain scored two early goals against last year’s runners-up Pakistan to give Malaysia their first group stage win in the tournament.
