Fitri in race against time to earn spot in team

PETALING JAYA: It has been eight weeks since a knee injury ended Fitri Saari’s Hangzhou Asian Games outing and now the midfielder is racing against time to claim a spot for the FIH Olympic Qualifiers in Muscat (Jan 15-21).

Fitri, who tore a posterior cruciate ligament on his left knee, was expected to recover in six weeks but has yet to return to the field.
