PETALING JAYA: It was a proud moment for SJKT Taman Tun Aminah as their girls' hockey team emerged as the champions in the District School Sports Council competition on May 21.
They defeated SK Kempas 1-0 in the final. SK Mohd Khir Johari and SK Taman Sutera B came in third and fourth respectively in Johor Baru.
For Tun Aminah, it was the school's first title in the tournament.
The victorious team comprised off K. Tannisha, J. Jivaneisshwary, G. Nevashini, S. Thayaalini, N.D Thasmitha, E. Hivasinee, S. Nishika Sai, V. Karthika, S. Sudarshini, S. Darshika, M. Sreeluckwinsha, S. Deilina Poorani, J. Maithili, R. Keerthisha, R. Siddheksha.
The team delivered an impressive achievement by scoring a total of 20 goals throughout the tournament.
Adding even greater pride to the school’s success, team captain Darshika was crowned the “Best Player of the Tournament” in recognition of her exceptional leadership and brilliant performance on the field.
The talented and determined girls showcased teamwork, discipline, resilience, and remarkable sportsmanship.
Their outstanding performance on the field earned admiration from supporters and competitors alike, as they dominated the competition with skill, confidence, and unwavering fighting spirit.
This remarkable success was achieved under the dedicated guidance and tireless commitment of coach and teacher G. Ponggiannan.
The school also extended heartfelt appreciation to coaches G. Ponggiannan and B. Praveendran, as well as team manager S. Saranya from Tuta Jewels, for their invaluable support and leadership throughout the season.
The school community also expressed its deepest gratitude to the headmistress, R. Rajeeswari and all other stakeholders, including teachers, parents, the community and their sponsors, including Tea Thambi, for their continuous encouragement and strong support towards the development of sports excellence in the school.
