PETALING JAYA: Rhythmic gymnastics team led by Koi Sie Yan missed out on a medal after finishing fourth in the team event at the Arena Birmingham on Thursday.

Sie Yan, Izzah Amzan and Ng Joe Ee amassed a total score of 265.250 points. Sie Yan and Izzah were in the team that finished second at the last edition in Gold Coast in 2018.

Hosts England finished ahead of them at the third spot with 267.050 points.

Canada and Australia bagged the gold and silver with 272.950 and 268.650 points respectively.

Only Izzah and Joe Ee made it to the top 16 individual all-around final as the fifth and ninth qualifiers. Sie Yan finished 15 but a country can only have their top two gymnasts.

Sie Yan made it to only one final apparatus - in the ribbon as the seventh qualifier with second ranked Joe Ee. Only the top eight qualify.

Izzah made the cut in the hoop as the sixth qualifier and the clubs as the seventh. Joe Ee will be the only representative in the top eight ball final after making the cut as the second best.
