PETALING JAYA: The PGM Tour resumes this weekend with most of the rising stars committing to the Penang Closed Championship at Bukit Jawi Golf Resort.
In the Qualifiers on Monday, Afdlin Mikhail and Zubair Firdaus topped the leaderboard at one-under 71.
A total of eight players earned their spot to play in this week’s championship.
Defending champion Ben Leong is back to maintain his winning ways on the course while also playing this week is two-time champion and veteran Danny Chia.
Others to look out for are PGM 2025 Order of Merit winner Ervin Chang, Edven Ying, Shahriffuddin Ariffin, Amir Nazrin and amateur Anson Yeo.
In the women’s championship, Liyana Durisic will be going for her third title win in a row this season.
Zulaikah Nasser, who was runner-up last year, is also aiming to capture another podium finish this time around.
Seventy-eight players will be teeing off today in the first round. The event offers a prize purse of RM180,000 and RM30,000 for the women’s championship.
