M'sian golfer Natasha continues strong showing in second round of LPGA Tour tourney

PETALING JAYA: Malaysian golfer Natasha Andrea Oon continued her strong showing by carding a two-under 70 in the second round of the LPGA Tour's Fortinet Founders Cup in California on Friday (March 20).

The 24-year-old navigated a rollercoaster round, mixing an eagle, seven birdies, five bogeys and a double bogey at Sharon Heights Golf and Country Club, thus improving from her overnight tied 60th to tied 31st at the half-way stage.

Natasha is nine shots off the lead held by South Korea's Kim Hyo-joo, who moved to 11-under 133 after a second-round 70.

Natasha was pleased to make the cut in her LPGA Tour debut.

"It's been a while and these things happen.

“This is golf. I guess it was just colourful. I kind of covered all areas out there,” commented Natasha on her eventful second day.

She highlighted her round with a spectacular eagle that lifted both her momentum and confidence late in the day.

Natasha is making a comeback to competitive golf after a two-year lay-off caused by a foot injury.
