Golden girl Jeneath targets rare WAAP double

PETALING JAYA: A year after making history, Malaysia’s Jeneath Wong is targeting another milestone as she bids to become the first player to successfully defend the Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific (WAAP) championship, which tees off at Royal Wellington Golf Club today.

The 21-year-old became the first Malaysian to win the region’s premier women’s amateur title in Vietnam last year and now faces a strong field featuring 12 top-50 world amateurs, including runner-up Oh Soo-min and US Women’s Amateur champion Rianne Malixi.
