ON most golf courses there are four par-3s and they are key to scoring well. Thus, don’t let silly mistakes creep in on the short holes and ruin a good round – think about it before you play the shot.

It’s easy to fall into the trap of always taking dead aim at the flag on par-3s, but you must know when this is the right play and when it’s smarter to adopt a safer approach and play to the fat part of the green.
