PETALING JAYA: Kuching City are fired up to snap a winless streak when they face South Korean club Gangwon in the AFC Champions League (ACL) Two at the Gangneung Arena on Thursday.

The Cats, given their attacking verve, have been one of the unluckiest teams around.

Aidil Shahrin’s men have scored 10 goals in their last five matches, yet have won only one, with the rest ending in draws or defeats.

Winger Ramadhan Saifullah said they must convert more of the many chances they create if they are to win games.

In last Friday’s 2-1 loss to Selangor in the FA Cup semi-final first leg, they had eight shots at goal but scored only once.

‘’Going by the number of chances we’re creating in a game, we should be scoring more goals. So that’s one area we have to fix before we can start winning on a regular basis,’’ said Ramadhan.

As for coach Aidil, he said his side would not abandon their attacking approach.

“We’re a team that love to attack and play good football, and I believe that we will be eventually rewarded with wins,’’ he said.

Kuching will be eyeing their first win in the ACL Two in their maiden continental campaign.

They lost 2-1 to Cambodian club Phnom Penh Crown on Sept 17 and were held to a 1-1 draw by Hong Kong’s Kitchee on Oct 15.

In the Shopee Cup Asean Club Championships, they also played to a 2-2 stalemate with Singaporean side Tampines Rovers on Oct 7.
