PETALING JAYA: Sabah have bolstered their attacking arsenal for the upcoming season with the high-profile signing of South Korean forward Park Jung-bin (pic).
The 32-year-old Busan-born attacker arrives with a wealth of experience, spanning top-tier leagues across Europe and Asia.
Jung-bin will take over the Rhinos’ No. 9 jersey, following a stint with Cambodian side Visakha.
Effective as both a central striker and an attacking midfielder, the versatile, two-footed Jung-bin boasts a globe-trotting resume that includes spells in Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, South Korea, France, and Cambodia.
Jung-bin’s European journey included stints with Wolfsburg, Greuther Furth, Karlsruher, Viborg FF, Hobro IK, Servette and Rodez AF.
His career highlight came as an 18-year-old when he debuted for Wolfsburg against Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga at the iconic Allianz Arena before 71,000 fans - a memory he treasures deeply.
“Making my Bundesliga debut at 18 in front of 71,000 spectators at the Allianz Arena is a feeling that will stay with me forever,” Jung-bin recalled.
Another notable milestone was scoring a hattrick in the Swiss Super League for Servette.
Now, the seasoned forward is eager to write a new chapter in Borneo, drawn by Sabah’s vision under head coach Juan Torres Garrido.
“Sabah offered a fantastic project with big ambitions and a strong vision. The coach has explained my role to me clearly, and I’m thrilled,” he said.
Besides Jung-bin, Sabah have also signed Argentinian goalkeeper Juan Flere Pizzuti, Argentinian winger Gonzalo Di Renzo, Spanish defender Kike Lopez and Filipino midfielder Oskari Kekkonen.
