PETALING JAYA: Selangor are adding more firepower to their squad after announcing the arrival of Venezuelan attacking midfielder Eduardo Sosa.
The 30-year-old Sosa has decided to move to Selangor after an impressive season with Immigration.
He had scored 11 goals and four assists across all competitions for his former club, and his performances highlighted his ability to influence matches through creativity, intelligent movement and quality in the final third.
Selangor head coach Kim Pan-gon believes Sosa’s capability of operating as an attacking midfielder, winger, or second striker will help strengthen the team’s attacking identity.
“We are always looking for players who can make a real difference in the attacking third, and Sosa has all the qualities we were searching for,” said Pan-gon.
“He is a highly creative player with excellent vision and the ability to deliver decisive final passes that create opportunities for his teammates.
“On top of that, he has a natural goalscoring instinct and never shies away from taking responsibility in important moments.”
Before making his mark in Malaysia, Sosa had enjoyed a well-travelled professional career, featuring in Venezuela, Colombia, and the United States.
The familiarity with Malaysian football was something Sosa understands and aims to help Selangor strive for success this season.
“My goal is to settle in quickly, build strong chemistry with my teammates and entertain the supporters with positive, attacking football.
“I can’t wait to begin this new chapter with the Red Giants.”
Sosa is Selangor’s second foreign signing for next season after they welcomed Philippines international Jefferson Tabinas on Wednesday.
