Cats will make do without Palmero as Rhinos loom

PETALING JAYA: Kuching City will be without the services of Harimau Malaya player Gabriel Palmero for the remainder of the season following the Court of Arbitration for Sports’ (CAS) latest verdict.

And Palmero’s absence will surely be felt by the Cats at home when they take on Sabah in the Super League game at the Sarawak Stadium today.

Palmero joined Kuching early last month and had since made three appearances for the club, and scored a goal during their Malaysia Cup quarter-final second leg match against Brunei.

Kuching head coach Aidil Sharin Sahak said he would make do without Palmero at leftback, but is determined to win three points in their bid to finish second in the league.

“Sabah are always a threat. Although they have not had the best season, we have to be on our toes,” said Aidil.

Kuching had won the previous league clash between the two, securing a 1-0 win at the Likas Stadium last October.
