PETALING JAYA: Sabah denied Selangor a crucial away victory after holding them to a 2-2 draw in the first leg of the FA Cup semi-finals at the Likas Stadium on Sunday (Nov 9).

The Rhinos were first to take the lead when forward Ajdin Mujagic's relentless effort paid off in the 13th minute after scoring past Selangor goalkeeper Sikh Izhan Nazrel Sikh Azman

The Red Giants thought they had equalised five minutes later but Alvin Fortes' goal was deemed offside.

In the second half, Selangor interim coach Christophe Gamel brought in Fazly Mazlan and it quickly paid off when his shot veered into the goal after deflecting off Sabah's Dane Ingham in the 64th minute.

Selangor continued to press and took the lead in the 80th minute when Nooa Laine headed in the ball from a Faisal Halim assist.

Just when Selangor thought they would go away with a win, Mujagic made sure things stayed even heading into the second leg when he scored the night's second equaliser in injury time.

The second leg match will see Selangor host Sabah at the Petaling Jaya Stadium on Nov 30.

Meanwhile, Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) put themselves ahead for the second leg fixture after defeating Kuching 2-1 at the Sarawak Stadium.

The Southern Tigers' Bergson da Silva scored a brace in the 36th and 50th minutes.

But hosts Kuching made sure to reduce the deficit as midfielder Petrus Shitembi scored in the 70th minute.

Kuching will head to the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on Nov 29 for the second leg match.
