Club set to boot Rodrigo following FIFA ruling


PETALING JAYA: Embattled footballer Rodrigo Holgado could be offloaded by his Colombian club.

According to a tweet from a Colombian sports reporter, America de Cali, through their lawyers, are proceeding with the contractual termination of Rodrigo Holgado, following the FIFA Appeals Committee's response.

"For their part, the Malaysian Federation (Football Association of Malaysia) are preparing their case for the next instance: the CAS," he added in the tweet.

FIFA had on Monday (Nov 3) rejected FAM’s appeal, maintaining all sanctions - including a 12-month suspension for the seven players, including Holgado, and a 350,000 Swiss francs (RM1.8mil) fine for the national body.
