Trust TMJ's leadership to handle FIFA crisis, urges Indra Putra

PETALING JAYA: Former national footballer Indra Putra Mahayuddin has urged the Malaysian football community to place their trust and confidence in the leadership of Johor Regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahin, amid the ongoing crisis involving the suspension of seven Harimau Malaya mixed heritage players by FIFA.

Indra emphasised that Tunku Ismail’s vision, mission, and proven leadership make him the right person to steer the country’s football through this challenging period.

"We need to trust and support TMJ’s (Tunku Ismail) leadership in planning both short- and long-term solutions to ensure Malaysian football does not continue to decline,” Indra said after meeting the prince in Johor on Thursday (Oct 2).

Expressing his gratitude to Tunku Ismail for receiving him, Indra shared how inspired he felt after personally listening to his clear vision for Malaysian football.

"I was truly excited to meet TMJ and to hear his plans for the future of our football. His message was very clear, and I strongly believe that with his dedication and passion, Malaysian football can reach a higher level."

Addressing the current situation, Indra reminded fans and stakeholders that this is not the time for blame, but rather a time for unity.

"In these tough times, we cannot fall into the culture of blaming one another. We must rise together, move forward as one team, and ensure the future of Malaysian football remains protected."

Indra also called for all football stakeholders to unite and work towards constructive solutions for the good of the game.

"TMJ has already proven that he can bring positive change through his work with Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT). His leadership and international connections can help Malaysia overcome this crisis."
