PETALING JAYA: National footballer Faisal Halim's performance on the pitch will not be affected by his divorce case, says head coach Peter Cklamovski.

The Selangor winger handed in his divorce papers on Tuesday (Sept 2) but the gaffer said Faisal was fully focussed and not affected by personal matters.

"From a football perspective, it has no effect. It's a personal matter for him and his family and we are all here to support him," said Cklamovski at a press conference on Wednesday (Sept 3).

"He is an inspiration to the nation and he will continue to do that. I know he is looking after his personal matters and we are in full support of him," he said.

The national team will take on Singapore in a friendly match at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Thursday (Sept 4), before another friendly against Palestine on Monday (Sept 8).

Cklamovski added that the 27-year-old is in good physical condition and is ready to be fielded for their match against Singapore.

"Faisal is fully available, training hard and prepared for his performance. I'll make the call tomorrow and you can see the team list," said Cklamovski.

The friendly is as part of the team's preparations for their AFC Asian Cup third round qualifiers in October.
