FAM confirm Joehari's resignation as president


PETALING JAYA: The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) have confirmed the resignation of Datuk Joehari Ayub as president of the governing body.

The news was announced by the Football Association of Malaysia executive committee on Wednesday (Aug 27) after their second special meeting for the 2025-2029 term at Wisma FAM, where they discussed Joehari’s departure after being in charge of the association for six months.

"Football Association of Malaysia reluctantly confirm that Datuk Joehari Ayub has recently submitted his resignation as president," the statement said.

"The executive committee express their deepest appreciation and gratitude to Datuk Joehari for all his contributions, services, dedication and commitment throughout his time with the Football Association of Malaysia since he was elected vice president in 2017 and subsequently president on Feb 15."

The committee also agreed to name current deputy president Datuk Yusoff Mahadi as acting president, pending the election of a new supremo within the current term.
