Pahang coach Fandi to appeal striker Kpah’s suspension

PETALING JAYA: Pahang will appeal for captain Kpah Sherman to be reinstated from suspension in the Malaysia Cup final.

Coach Fandi Ahmad (pic) said they would appeal after the Liberian striker received a yellow card in the second leg semi-final against Sabah, which means he would miss the final against Johor Darul Ta’zim in April after collecting two yellow cards in the tournament.

"Kpah has two yellow cards, so we will appeal his suspension. We will review the video of his challenge in the 70th minute when he was flashed the yellow," Fandi said on Monday (Feb 3).

"He has played from the start and in every tournament, so it doesn't look good if he does not play in the final. I will surely look to appeal for him."

Pahang qualified for the Malaysia Cup final after 11 years by beating Sabah 2-1 in the second leg to seal the semi-final tie 3-2 on aggregate.

Sherman was the hero for the Elephants, scoring the winner in the 106th minute at the Temerloh Stadium on Sunday (Feb 2).
