Pahang down Perak 4-3 on aggregate to make Malaysia Cup semis

PETALING JAYA: Pahang has defeated Perak 4-3 on aggregate to book a spot in the Malaysia Cup semi-finals.

The Elephants held Perak to a thrilling 3-3 draw at the Darul Makmur Stadium in Kuantan on Sunday (Dec 22), after going into the match with a 1-0 lead in the aggregate after the first leg.

The goals kept alternating, with Pahang first to find the net after five minutes through Argentine winger Manuel Hidalgo.

Perak equalised in the ninth minute with a goal from Wan Zack Wan Haikal, but Hidalgo made it two for himself and the team after converting a penalty in the 30th minute.

Jesper Nyholm's scored Perak's second goal but Hidalgo once again found the net and completed his hattrick before half time.

Ahmad Daniel Hakimi Ahmad Azmil came to Perak's rescue in the 54th minute to even the core but it was not enough to catch up to Pahang on aggregate.

Pahang will take on either Sabah or Kuching in the semi-finals next month.
