FAM rest refs for two games

PETALING JAYA: The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has decided to rest referee Razlan Joffri Ali and VAR referee Ahmad Zuhadi Dzulkifli following contentious calls during the Super League match between Perak and Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri last Sunday (Nov 10).

FAM deputy president, Datuk S. Sivasundaram, who chairs the Referees Committee, reported that the Referee Performance Evaluation Committee reviewed a penalty decision not awarded to Perak in the 38th minute and an altercation involving JDT winger Arif Aiman Hanapi and Perak wingback Tommy Mawat Bada in the 84th minute.

The investigation of these incidents was conducted in accordance with FIFA’s Laws of the Game and concluded that the decisions made by the referee and VAR referee were not accurate.

As a result, the committee has decided to rest them from officiating in the next two matches across professional and amateur leagues.
