Cklamovski parts ways with Harimau Malaya in major FAM staff shake-up


PETALING JAYA: National football head coach Peter Cklamovski has officially left his post, headlining a major coaching and management shake-up within the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).

FAM announced on Thursday (June 18) that Cklamovski, alongside senior technical staff members Matthew Smith and Seiya Imazaki, have parted ways with the national team by mutual consent, effective Tuesday (June 16).

The Australian tactician’s departure is part of a wider restructuring within the national setup.

The football body also confirmed that National Team chief executive officer Rob Friend had his contract terminated by mutual agreement on June 1.

Furthermore, National Under-23 head coach Nafuzi Zain and goalkeeper coach Mohd Yazid Mohd Yassin also exited their roles via mutual consent on Monday (June 15).

In an official statement, FAM expressed its gratitude to the departing employees for their service.

"FAM respects the decisions made and express their highest appreciation and gratitude for all the services, commitment and contributions rendered throughout their tenure with the national team," the statement read.

To ensure the continuity and smooth progression of national team programmes, FAM stated that they are currently taking the necessary steps to fill the vacant positions.

The association added that further updates regarding the national team setup will be announced in due course.
