Coach Esteban Solari leaves JDT

PETALING JAYA: Johor Darul Ta’zim made a shocking announcement by stating that coach Esteban Solari will leave the club.

Despite winning the quadruple, which is the Charity Shield, Super League, Malaysia Cup and FA Cup, this year with them, the Argentinian is moving on.

In a statement, the club said they are undergoing a transformation that will see a 30-40% reduction in spending due to a need to restructure our finances to ensure sustainability.

Besides Solari, stalwarts like wingback S. Kunanlan, centreback Aidil Zafuan Abdul Radzak and midfielder Leandro Velasquez will be leaving the club.

"The club have spent a considerable amount of money on our football project over the past seven years," said the statement on social media.

"Among those leaving the Southern Tigers are head coach Esteban Solari, Rodrigo Barrios, Antonio Mateos, Antonio Gavilan and Dr Leandro Pinero from the coaching staff.

"Players such as Aidil Zafuan Abd Radzak, S. Kunanlan, Ahmad Hazwan Bakri, Adam Nor Azlin, Leandro Velazquez and Diogo Luis Santo will also be leaving JDT following years of their service.

"JDT would also like to wish all the best to players going out on loan such as Oscar Arribas, Syafiq Ahmad, Safawi Rasid, Akhyar Rashid and Haziq Nadzli."
